Prolite is a new intense pulsed light
technology that treats solar
lentigines, age spots and dark pigment,
while optimizing patient comfort and
results. Prolite system delivers a series of
gentle light pulses to the skin. Specific
filters are used to maximize the efficiency
of this intense light.
Prolite offers a non-invasive, safe and
effective solution to skin aging by
restoring a youthful appearance that is
called photo rejuvenation. Photo rejuvenation
skin damage without disrupting the
skin’s surface and simultaneously treats a
wide range of facial problems to improve the
texture and complexion of the skin.
Prolite evens out the color and tone of the
skin. By targeting hemoglobin and melanin,
IPL removes brown and red spots. The light
will harmlessly travel through your skin and
selectively target the redness and pigment
that will then be gradually shed by your
body.
Small spider veins and flat “age” spots also
respond very well. The procedure provides
the best results when followed up with
microdermabrasion after about a week.
Reverse sun damage with IPL Photofacial is a
no-downtime treatment that repairs
sun-damaged skin by correcting brown spots,
broken capillaries, large pores and Rosacea.
It can be used to treat affected areas of
the face, chest and hands.
Prolite treatments can be combined with
other procedures requiring no down-time to
achieve maximum results without invasive
surgery.
What results can I expect?
A gradual decrease in overall redness and
flushing can be expected. Smoother skin,
smaller pore size and fading of sun spots
will be seen. Rosacea, a common vascular
problem, will show significant improvement.
How soon will I see results?
Five treatments are usually performed for
optimal results. Improvements are gradual
and will accelerate after each additional
session. Change in skin tone and a smoother
skin will be experienced as early as the
first treatment. Each treatment will take
approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
What areas can be treated?
Although Prolite can be used on any part of
the body, maximum results are seen on the
face, chest, neck, and back of the hands. As
treatment is based on light absorption in
melanin and haemoglobin, treatments are most
efficient in patients with light skin who
are non sun-tanned at the time of the
treatment.
Are these treatments painful?
Tolerance of pain varies from person to
person. No anesthetics are required. Many
patients describe the discomfort as a
warming sensation.
